Pirmin Bertle scores Pantera (9a) in the Franconian Jura

The German climber Primin Bertle announces the possibly only fourth ascent of the 9a route Pantera at Schneiderloch.

Pirmin only spent an hour at the Schneiderloch sector before he succeeded in the red point ascent of Pantera (9a). Pirmin warmed up at home on his training wall - he lives only 10 kilometers from the area.

“I succeeded in Pantera today in the first attempt. This year I invested a total of five attempts on the route. "

Pantera was first climbed by his compatriot Markus Bock in 2009 and has so far only been repeated by Adam Ondra and Alexander Megos. In view of the current Corona situation, walking on a route is a rarity. It is therefore not surprising that Pirmin comments on his ascent as follows.

“It wasn't my intention to undermine the fight against Covid-19, but as a climber it is my job not to let good climbing conditions pass me by. Especially when many other things such as presentations, workshops and trainings are omitted. The risk of injury on such a well-established route after all these years of climbing is very low and there are hardly any people to be found in the Schneiderloch. "

Pirmin Bertle was secured by his partner. After the ascent of Pantera, Pirmin got on route 9a + route Corona (no joke). A red point ascent of this route was denied to the German.
