As the Tierberglihütte reports on its Facebook page, there was another rock crash on the stone glacier in the Susten region last Saturday.
On Saturday, April 25, 2020 there was another rock and ice break on the stone glacier between 6.30 a.m. and 8.30 a.m. It is strongly recommended to follow the current recommendation (see below) and not to walk the affected route.
First rock fall in February
Already on February 21, 2020 there was a large rock fall on the stone glacier. The rock and ice demolition at that time fell on the stone glacier and spilled the ascent area of the usual route to the Susten and Gwächtenhorn, which is also used as a winter ascent to the Tierberglihütte.
Since then, ski touring has run the risk of being hit by falling blocks in the narrow ascent area east of the Bockberg. There are hardly any alternatives.
