16-year-old climber Luce Douady died in an accident

The young French climber Luce Douady had an accident on Sunday, June 14, 2020, near Grenoble near Grenoble on the exposed approach to the Saint Pancrasse climbing area.

Luce Douady and friends were on the approach path to the Saint Pancrasse climbing area. As the local newspaper Le Dauphiné reports, Luce fell about 150 meters in an exposed location and was fatally injured.

France's youth hope

Luce Douady won in the bouldering discipline of the Youth World Championship in Arco 2019 and took third place at the European Championships in Edinburgh 2019. Just three weeks ago, she managed a sport climbing route with difficulty level 8b + for the first time. It was considered to be France's great hope for young talent and was just beginning its career.
