16-year-old with a new world speed record [unofficial]

A 16-year-old Chinese speed specialist has set a new, unofficial world speed record. He set the bar at 5.106 seconds.

Zhao Lei, team manager of the Chinese national climbing team, published a video about a week ago of a 16-year-old athlete who beat the current world speed record by 0.102 seconds.

This is the training effect for a 16 year old. So strong.

Since the record was set outside of an official competition, it is not valid. Nevertheless, the video by Zhao Lei illustrates the limits of the speed climbing are far from exhausted.

Only a few weeks ago, the world record was broken several times during a World Cup. The official speed climbing world record lies with the Indonesian Veddriq Leonardo with 5.208 seconds.
