Jakob Schubert and Chaehyun Seo are lead world champions in 2021

Yesterday the final of the Lead World Championships 2021 took place in Moscow. The Austrian Jakob Schubert won in the men's competition and Chaehyun from South Korea in the women's event Seo.

It was a nerve-wracking final that was held yesterday at the Irina Viner-Usmanova Gymnastics Palace. In a head-to-head race secured himself Jakob Schubert finally the third world champion title of his career. Only a few moves decided between victory and defeat in the men's final.

“I knew someone had reached the top before me, so I knew I had to give it my all. And I did. "

Jakob Schubert

Thanks to a better placement in the semifinals, Schubert placed ahead of the Slovenian Luca Potocar. For the talented 19-year-old, who finished the competition in second place, it was the second silver medal in his young career.

The bronze medal went to a second youngster, the 19-year-old Briton Hamish McArthur, who with a height of 46+ just missed the chance to secure a second lead title, which he won at the Youth World Championships last August.
