Two gripping climbing documentaries for the holidays

On a short rope on a ridge, with crampons and an ice ax on a frozen waterfall or alone and unsecured on a vertical wall: the sport of climbing has many faces. On December 26th and 30th, “Keep on Climbing” will show the most spectacular climbing projects and the most beautiful walls from the climbers’ perspective.

Dani Arnold is one of the most famous speed climbers in the world. He has set speed records on all six major north faces in the Alps. The 39-year-old professional mountaineer dares to do the previously impossible on the Salbitschijen mountain range in Uri.

Dani Arnold wants to climb all three bones solo in one day. He carries the rope with him for the key and abseiling points. Everything else is climbed unsecured. Three times up, three times down, over 1500 meters of climbing, 70 rope lengths – non-stop. Arnold succeeds in the trilogy Salbitschiyen in under ten hours – alone and faster than anyone has ever done before.

Yannick Galtthard is a versatile professional climber and mountain guide. In recent years he has invested a lot in competitive sports and traveled halfway around the world for ice climbing world cups. The competitions are over.

Today he devotes himself with great passion to smaller and larger projects close to his heart in his homeland. The angel horns stand in front of his front door in Meiringen BE. Solo, he opened a mixed ice climbing route on the north side. Together with his roommate Raphaela Haug, he returns to the Engelshörner and climbs them for the first time with his rope partner.
