Nina Williams is the first woman to climb the 13-Meter-Highball Ambrosia

Two days after Margo Hayes with the first female ascent of a 9a + Nina Williams proves with the ascent of the Highball Ambrosiahow damn strong women climb.

Ok, Nina Williams writes with the inspection of Ambrosia not exactly climbing history. But she shows that she is damn strong and has nerves of steel. Ambrosia is not a normal line. It's not a normal boulder either. No, it's a super-highball on the famous Block Grandpa Peabody in Bishop and with 13 meter height and a trick of 8a no picnic. Actually, therefore, one would have to speak of a free-solo ascent.

Trilogy at Boulder Block Grandpa Peabody in Bishop

As Nina Williams reports on her social media profiles, she fell in love with the striking and frightening block in California's Bishop Boulder area years ago. She has already climbed two more highball problems on the piece of rock called Grandpa Peabody. In the year 2015 you get Footprints (7c) followed by Evilution Direct (8a) last year. The trilogy has now completed her first female ascent Ambrosia (8a) on the same block.

First ascent by Kevin Jorgesons

The first ascent of the three lines on Granpa Peabody succeeded the American Kevin Jorgesons. Also the second ascent of Ambrosia secured a well-known name: Alex Honnold. Alex is known for his audacious free-solo tours of Yosemite and other big wall routes.
