Janja Garnbret and Manuel Cornu win the Boulder World Cup in Chongqing

At the third Boulder World Cup of the season in Chongqing, China, the Slovenian Janja Garnbret once again topped the podium. In the men's race, the Frenchman Manuel Cornu, who climbed more than his competitors and for the first time ever on the podium of an IFSC World Cup won. Switzerland missed the men's (Sascha Lehmann) and ladies (Petra Klingler) twice a podium finish. Jessica Pilz takes third place in the final with three tops for Austria. Germany retired in the semi-final.

Janja Garnbret was already dominant last year. But this year's performance surpasses everything. At all three competitions of the year she won the gold medal. For the men, the situation looks mixed. The first competition in Meiringen decided Adam Ondra for himself, while in Moscow from Jernej Kruder had to give up. In Chongqing, Ondra did not show due to illness and Jernej did not even make it to the semi-finals. That chance seemed to the Frenchman Manuel Cornu to have used. For the first time at an IFSC competition, he made it onto the podium - and even with first place.

The speed competition brought a new world record

In the speed discipline, the men's victory went to Alfian Muhammad (INA). The women's winner was YiLing Song (CHN), who broke the previous world record with a time of 7.10 seconds. The highlights in the discipline Speed are summarized in the following video.
