Jernej Kruder scores the Boulder Chimpanzee Baby and the Route Ranger

Between competitions at the World Championships 2018 Jernej Kruder drove to the bouldering Zillertal and scored the 8b-Boulder chimpanzee baby low. Two days ago, he had already managed the ascent of the climbing route Ranger (8c) in the Ötztal.

Jernej Kruder is one of the few competition athletes who is more often found on the rock than in the climbing gym. While most of the athletes in the climbing center Innsbruck were to be found around the 2018 World Championships, Jernej went to the surrounding climbing and bouldering areas. One day before the men's lead final, World Cup overall winner rode in bouldering into the Ötztal and scored the short, but crisp 8c route ranger.

On rest day 8b bouldered

He proceeded similarly on the rest day of the World Championships. He took the ascent of the 8b boulder chimpanzee baby low and said with a wink: "Now I feel well prepared for tomorrow's qualification."
