Bernd Zangerl announces the first ascent of a new, hard boulder in the Murg Valley near the Walensee. The new test piece is called Very important parrot and is in the range 8b (+).

“I'm looking forward to feedback from repeaters,” says Bernd Zangerl. Well then, let's go, dear readers. In addition to a portion of strength and flexibility, you also need a strong head. Because the thing is pretty high.

Renowned big-wall climber Lara Neumeier became the first woman to complete "Rhapsody" (E11 7a, 8c+) at Dumbarton Rock in Scotland on October 7th. Dave MacLeod's route, established in 2006, was the world's first E11 and is still considered a test piece in trad climbing 20 years later.
