Niky Ceria in top form: Boulder Gioia (8c +) committed

The Italian professional boulderer Niccolò Ceria has once again announced the ascent of an extremely difficult line. This time he managed the legendary boulder Gioia (8c +) in Varazze.

The Boulder Gioia is one of the most difficult bouldering lines in the world. The first ascent is done by Christian Core, who deciphered the boulder in 2008.

For a long time Gioia was considered the hardest boulder in the world.

Gioia was first repeated by Adam Ondra in 2011. Adam even upgraded the boulder to 8c +. Another visit is the responsibility of the Finn Nalle Hukkataivalwho repeated the boulder in 2014. Nalle and Niky made no statements about the level of difficulty. Even so, Gioia is now traded as 8c +.

Dreamtime, Ephyra, Gioia

While Niky Ceria has primarily focused on opening new boulders in lesser-known areas in recent years, this season he has focused on existing lines. The result: Niky climbs difficult boulders on the running meter. He climbed Ephyra (8c +) in Chironico, Dreamtime (8c) in Cresciano and is now adding to his considerable ticklist Enjoyment in Varazze, Italy.

A mix of unique factors have given this piece of rock meaning to many and given it the title 'legendary'.
