The Bächli Swiss Climbing Cup, the national sport climbing series of the elite and U18, stopped at the B2 in Pratteln on Saturday. 57 athletes braved the hot temperatures and tackled the varied boulder problems. While the Swiss champions of the U18 were already celebrated in March, the elite athletes went for gold, silver and bronze on this summer's day.
Successful title defense for Baptiste Ometz
As in qualifying, there were only a few tops in the final of the top six women. The first four athletes all solved a boulder problem and were very close together. The number of zones and trials ultimately brought the decision. With a top and four zones Petra Klingler (Bonstetten ZH) provided the best result and won the championship after 2016. Rebekka Stotz (Urdorf ZH) climbed to 2 with only one zone grip less than Klingler. Last year's winner Sofya Yokoyama (Rolle VD) finished third.
Last year's Swiss champion prevailed in the men's race with the victory of Baptiste Ometz (Fully VS). In the final he topped two boulders and thus showed the best result. Dimitri Vogt (Worben BE) finished in 2 with a top and three zones. Nils Favre (Martigny VS), who was still leading the qualifier after qualifying, climbed to 3 with less than Vogt.

Jonathan Brown (Bad Ragaz SG) won in the U18 Men, followed by Sascha Schwob (Füllinsdorf BL) and Marius Audenis (Fiez JU) in the 2 and 3 places.
