Petra Klingler and Baptiste Ometz are Boulder Swiss Champion 2018

The second competition of the Bächli Swiss Climbing Cup Series 2 took place in the climbing hall B26 Boulders & Bar in Pratteln on Saturday, May 2018th. The Swiss bouldering champions of the elite were chosen. Petra Klingler and Baptiste Ometz prevailed against their competitors and secured the title. In the U18 category, the day's victory went to Sara Werthmüller and Jonathan Brown.

The Bächli Swiss Climbing Cup, the national sport climbing series of the elite and U18, stopped at the B2 in Pratteln on Saturday. 57 athletes braved the hot temperatures and tackled the varied boulder problems. While the Swiss champions of the U18 were already celebrated in March, the elite athletes went for gold, silver and bronze on this summer's day.

Successful title defense for Baptiste Ometz

As in qualifying, there were only a few tops in the final of the top six women. The first four athletes all solved a boulder problem and were very close together. The number of zones and trials ultimately brought the decision. With a top and four zones Petra Klingler (Bonstetten ZH) provided the best result and won the championship after 2016. Rebekka Stotz (Urdorf ZH) climbed to 2 with only one zone grip less than Klingler. Last year's winner Sofya Yokoyama (Rolle VD) finished third.

Dimitri Vogt (Worben BE) finished in 2 with a top and three zones. Nils Favre (Martigny VS), who was still leading the qualifier after qualifying, climbed to 3 with less than Vogt.
