Shawn Raboutou: Route Buddha (8c + / 9a) and Boulder Foundation's Edge (8c) quickly scored

The young American Shawn Raboutou has been in Switzerland for a few days and has already attracted attention with two inspections. He climbs Buddha in the Bouddha sector (almost) of the same name and repeats the Boulder Foundation's Edge at Fionnay.

With the route Buddha, Shawn succeeds in the first ascent of an old project by Cyrille Albasini. However, there is confusion about the name. The name L'Oeuvre is circulating, which was originally also given by Cyrille Albasine. Shawn himself published the red point ascent with the name Buddha, but wrote in an answer to LACRUX that he was not sure what the route would be. We'll leave it with the name Buddha for now. Shawn says about the difficulty of the route:

"I don't have the experience to grade it but probably 8c + or 9a."

After this success on the rope, it went back to the blocks. In Fionnay he succeeded shortly after the second ascent of the 8c Boulder Foundation's Edge, The line was 2014 by Dave Graham first arrived and waited since then for a repetition.

This year Shawn seems to be running high. In South Africa, he repeated the dreamline in a relatively short time The Finnish Line (DOES Nalle Hukkataival) and later in the year another well-known 8c: Creature from the Black Lagoon at Rock Mountain National Park.
