These are the bouldering world champions 2021

Last weekend, the bouldering world champions 2021 were crowned in the Russian capital Moscow. Natalia Grossman won in the women and Kokoro Fujii in the men. The Swiss Andrea Kümin took sixth place thanks to an excellent performance.

Once again, the young American dominated Natalia Grossman what happened at the bouldering competition last Saturday. She topped all four final problems, three of them in Flash style, and won the ninth medal of the current season in Moscow. And it wasn't just any medal, it was the gold medal. The 20-year-old Grossman is bouldering world champion in 2021.

“I'm still trying to process what happened. It feels like in a dream. "

The Japanese go head-to-head

There were two Japanese among the finalists in the men's bouldering world championships - and both won a medal. Gold won Kokoro Fujii, Silver went on Tomoa Narasaki.

The Japanese Kokoro Fujii has already won seven medals at IFSC Bouldering World Cups, but the precious metal at a world championship has so far been denied him. He would not have thought that it would then be the gold medal.

I did it. Words fail me and I am glad that I believed in myself.

Kokoro Fujii

In contrast to Narasaki, Fujii topped all final boulders, two of them even in the very first attempt. With this strong performance, he pushed his compatriot and bouldering specialist Tomoa Narasaki to second place.
