The IFSC World Cup action moves on to Salt Lake City. Paraclimbing will also take place in the USA on Tuesday and Wednesday before the Bouldering World Cup this weekend.
Like almost every year, this season also features the international IFSCcompetition circuit in Salt Lake City. There, on Tuesday and Wednesday, competitions will take place in paraclimbing before the Bouldering World Cup takes place this weekend, seamlessly following on from the event in Curitiba last week.
As in Curitiba, the Boulder World Cup in Salt Lake City alongside well-known faces such as Mejdi Schalck or Sam Avezou Once again, numerous athletes from the continent of South America, which made its debut as a World Cup location this weekend.
Japan, Great Britain, Germany and USA strongly represented
Among the national teams most represented in Salt Lake City are Japan, whose Sorato Anraku won gold there in 2024, as well as Great Britain, including the Olympic starters Toby Roberts and Hamish McArthur.
The German team is also strongly represented, with Lucia Doerffel is participating in a World Cup for the first time this season. The host team, the USA, also makes a strong presence with a total of 18 athletes at the only Bouldering World Cup of the season on American soil. Paraclimbing: 170 participants from 24 countries
More than 170 athletes from 24 nations will compete in the first of three Paraclimbing World Cups of the season. The lead routes will be used for several of the 20 different starting categories, which are based on the various types and degrees of disabilities of the participants. It has also recently been announced that paraclimbing will be included in the Olympic Games will be held in LA in 2028.
You can see that a lot of good people are taking their training to the next level because of LA28. Salt Lake will be a really good competition.
