Jain Kim and Jakob Schubert win the IFSC Lead World Cup in Arco

The Korean Jain Kim and the Austrian Jakob Schubert climbed on the podium of the lead competition in Arco, Italy. The Swiss Anne-Sophie Koller placed behind Jain Kim and won the silver medal in Arco. For her it was the first medal at a Lead World Cup. Katherine Choong made it to 13.

The lead competition in Arco was no picnic for the athletes. The brutal heat made climbing a torture: “I had a lot to bite with the heat and my poor endurance. But I gave everything, ”said Jacob after the semifinals. Also in the final he gave everything again and got the gold medal.

First victory at a Lead World Cup for Jain Kim

For the first time in this Lead World Cup season, the victory did not go to the Slovenian Janja Garnbret, The gold medal went to the Korean Jain Kim. She clambered up the challenging boulder station where many others dripped clean. A great achievement was also done by Anne-Sophie Koller. She won her first Lead World Cup medal (silver).
