Just two weeks after her win at the Swiss Championships in Bouldering, Petra Klingler doubled her position today: In Niederwangen she also secured the championship title in lead climbing. In the men's victory went to Marco Müller. Zoé Egli and Michel Erni won in the category U18.
The third station of the national sport climbing series of the elite and U18 today led 42 athletes to the climbing hall Magnet in Niederwangen. At the first lead competition of the season, the championship titles were awarded at the same time.
Master in Bouldering and Lead
Already after the two qualification routes led Petra Klingler (Bonstetten ZH) the women's leaderboard. In the final of the Top 6 she reached the top like Anouk Piola (Daillens VD) and climbed to the championship title thanks to the better classification after qualifying. The Vaudois became vice-Swiss champion. Square 3 went to Andrea Kümin (Angle ZH).
In the men Sascha Lehmann (Burgdorf BE) and Marco Müller (Küssnacht am Rigi SZ) dominated the qualification and took the 1 together. Intermediate place. In the final, it was not enough for Marco Müller for the top, with a height of 23 climbed the Central Swiss but the highest and became lead swiss champion. Sascha Lehmann fell unexpectedly early and was eliminated for the race for podiums. The silver medal secured Dylan Chuat (Vessy GE). Kevin Huser (Widen AG) climbed to place 3. Lehmann took the 5. Zoé Egli defends U18 championship title
Zoé Egli (Hünibach BE) made a great performance in the U18 category with a total of 2 tops in qualifying and 1 Top in the final route and earned a deserved title. She successfully defended her victory of the previous year. The second athlete to reach the top in the final was Eglis younger sister Liv. She became vice-Swiss champion. Place 3 also went to the Bernese Oberland: Joëlle Niederberger (Oberhofen BE) was third.
The Zurich U18 champion Michel Erni (Affoltern aA) took the 1 after qualifying. Had proven intermediate against his five final opponents by. On the places 2 and 3 climbed Marius Audenis (Fiez VD) and Vivian Fumeaux (Pont-de-la-Morge VS).
