9a despite fever and flu – Laura Rogora is unstoppable

After a strong competition season, Italian Laura Rogora is no longer pulling on plastic but directly back on rock. With "Il Terzo Occhio" she wins in the Castello di Drena, Trentino their next 9a.

Unstoppable despite flu

The line Il Terzo Occhio (9a) had Rogora 2022 together with Stefano Ghisolfi and Adam Ondra bolted. Ghisolfi secured the first ascent the following year. Adam Ondra hasn't yet reported any ascents of the route, so it can be assumed that Rogora's ascent secured the first repeat and the first FFA – actually "First Female Ascent," but in this case "First Fever Ascent" – of the route. Rogora humorously describes her day on Instagram. "Everything was perfect," she begins, "Well, almost, I had the flu." But apparently, fever and flu can't stop Laura from successfully ascending a 9a.

Completely unexpectedly, I made the first FFA – the first fever ascent of the route

The year was full of success for Laura Rogora. At the beginning of the year, she climbed in Mišja Peč in Slovenia, where she managed Martin Krpan (9a), Sanjski par extension (9a), and Xaxid Hostel (9a) within just one week. One 9a after another! Oliana The Italian then also onsighted American Hustle (8c) and added another 9a with Papi blue to her list. To top it all off, she climbed, among others, Ultimate Sacrifice (8c+) in onsight and another 5 routes in the ninth French difficulty grade in Gorges du Loup.
