The strong climber Jorge Díaz-Rullo brings Spain another sport climbing route with the highest level of difficulty. In Margalef he climbs his long-term project Mejorando la Samfaina and proposes grade 9b+ for his first ascent.

Jorge Diaz-Rullo is currently one of the strongest climbers in Spain. With his recent first ascent in the Raco De La Finestra sector in Margalef the 23-year-old proves that he is one of the best in his sport internationally. Mejorando la Samfaina (9b +) is the Spaniard's most difficult route so far. His recipe for success: “Precision in every movement, concentration on the fight, letting go and enjoying. Everything comes when you least expect it."

Combination of two existing lines

Mejorando la Samfaina, Margalef's recent 9b+ sport route, combines two existing lines: Majorando Imagen and samfaina. Jorge Díaz-Rullo scored both last year. Together they make a very long and enduring route.

Cafe Colombia: Even harder?

Although extremely difficult, Mejorando la Samfaina (9b +) was not the strong Spaniard's main project. Jorge Díaz-Rullo has been trying his mega project in the same sector for more than 100 days Cafe Colombia. So far, the line has successfully resisted an inspection.

In view of the fact that Jorge Díaz-Rullo has already rated his "side project" Mejorando la Samfaina with 9b+, it does not seem unreasonable that Cafe Colombia could one day break the grade 9c. We are curious.
