German alpinist dies in a mountain accident in Valais

On Saturday, April 24, 2021 at around 07.15 a.m., there was a mountain accident in Bourg-St-Pierre. A German mountain guide was killed.

The alpinist set out from the “Valsorey” mountain hut with the goal of “Grand Combin”. On the ascent over the «du Meitin» glacier, at an altitude of around 3 m above sea level. He slipped at sea and fell about 390 meters.

The rescue workers who were called up immediately could only determine the death of the mountaineer. The victim is a 29-year-old German national.
