The Swiss climber Cedric Lachat succeeds again in following a hard route: he climbs the Jungfrau Marathon near Gimmelwald in the Bernese Oberland.
Just over a week ago Cedric Lachat announced the second ascent of the Route La Cène du Roi Lézard (9a +) in the climbing area Jansegg. He said after the visit, now the next projects would be waiting for him. At least with the gimmelwald-Classic Jungfrau Marathon he did not hesitate long and scored the route after only four attempts. With him in Gimmelwald was Katherine Choong, which seems to be on the verge of getting through. Jungfrau Marathon would already be her second 9a. In August, the Jurassian climbed with Cabane au Canada in Rawyl as first Swiss a 9a.
Despite heel inflammation in top form
An inflammation on the right heel does not stop Cedric from climbing. He quickly cut away the heel part of his climbing shoe and fixed the shoe with tape on his foot. So he can climb without putting much pressure on the lit heel. Necessity is the mother of invention.
