Decathlon calls Toucan Light belay device and Rocky carabiner

Decathlon retrieves Decathlon mountain sports brand Simond's Toucan Light backup devices, which have been purchased since 25.02.2019. In addition, Decathlon released a few days ago, the recall of the screw karabiner Rocky.

1 Information on the recall of the Toucan Light device of the Simond brand

As the company says, in some cases it has been found that when two climbers are secured from the stand at the same time, one of the climbers hangs into the rope and it is thus on train that the second climber can be blocked.

Backup devices affected by the recall should no longer be used and can be returned to any DECATHLON store. The purchase price will be refunded.

Consumers who are unsure whether their own backup devices are affected can have them checked at the nearest DECATHLON store.

2 Information about the recall of the screw carabiner Rocky of the brand Simond

Decathlon recalls screw karate Rocky of the Decathlon mountain sport brand Simond running between the 5. December 2018 and the 4. July 2019 were bought. As the company informs, in some cases the screw cap was mounted the wrong way round. This could unlock the carabiner during use.

There is a significant risk of injury. Customers should under no circumstances continue to use affected screw carabiners.
