Reel Rock 17: The Movies

  • Burning the Flame with Babsi Zangerl and Jacopo Larcher
The big wall pros Babsi and Jacopo are looking for their biggest challenge so far. A free ascent of Eternal Flame, an iconic route at the legendary Nameless Tower in the Karakoram. In view of the extreme conditions and the difficult climbing at high altitude, their two-year search is reduced to a short window of good weather.
  • DNA (9c) with Seb Bouin
29-year-old French sport climber Seb Bouin has quietly worked his way through the toughest grades, culminating in his attempt to set up a long and heavily overhanging route in the Verdon Gorge. Its route is so futuristic and the trains so improbable that DNA could be one of the most difficult routes ever climbed.
  • Resistance Climbing with Andrew Bisharat
In the riot-torn mountains of Palestine, a diverse group of people use rock climbing as a much-needed respite from the burdens of Israeli occupation. American writer and climber Andrew Bisharat visits the West Bank to explore his own roots and the life-changing power of climbing.
