The climbing couple Babsi Zangerl and Jacopo Larcher are in the Sending Train mode. While Jacopo scores points for the Voralpsee Speed Intégrale (9a) testpiece, Babsi is committing Atlantic (8c) and Missing Link (8c +).
One success message after the other reaches us from the eastern Swiss sports climbing area Voralpsee, Babsi Zangerl and Jacopo Larcher climb difficult routes almost daily. After the hardest route on Voralpsee, Speed Intégrale, due to Jacopo we talked to him (interview below).
At the same time, his partner, Babsi Zangerl, for a stir. After a long injury break she seems to be more than fit again. First, she scored Atlantic (8c) and took a few days later in just four attempts a redpoint walk the route Missing Link (8c +). Speed Intégrale Incidentally, Babsi already climbed 2018 in May. It was her first 9a. Since entering the route, Babsi has been one of the few women to climb 9a rotpunkt.
Interview with Jacopo Larcher about his visit of Speed Intégrale on Voralpsee
When did you first design Speed Intégrale?
I seriously planned the route for the first time last fall, but I've been in the route a few times before. During about a week I planned the route and was pretty close, but then flew to the United States. This year I invested another four days.
What was the difficulty with Speed Intégrale for you?
The route is not really my style, which made everything harder for me 🙂 But the line is so cool, I really wanted to climb it. When I started projecting again this year, I had to boulder everything again and invest two days until I could give serious attempts.
Speed Intégrale is the hardest route on Voralpsee and probably also the region. Do you run the projects in your home country?
Well, there are always a lot of projects in the area, they never go out 😉
Which route in the area appeals to you that you have not yet climbed?
There is a casual and heavy project from the Beat in Lorüns. Now the season is over, but I would like to try the route next year.
