Margo Hayes paid a visit to the North American Red River Gorge and climbed some classic lines. She scored Golden Ticket (8c +) in only five tries and did not hesitate to play long in Southern Smoke (also 8c +).
Margo Hayes has been known to a broader audience ever since her inauguration of La Rambla in Siurana in the spring of 2017. The 20-year-old American wrote with her ascent of the 9a + route climbing history, Never before has a woman climbed a route at this level of difficulty. Already in the autumn of the same year she doubled and scored one of the most famous sport climbing routes ever: Biography (9a +) in Céüse, France.
Short trial in Red River Gorge
For a while it was a bit calmer for the young American. Maybe there was not much time for rock climbing next to the training and climbing world championships in Innsbruck. So much the better are the news from the Red River Gorge, which Margo recently visited. She climbed various classics of the area. Most interesting are the tours of Golden Ticket and Southern Smoke (both 8c +). Golden Ticket was established by Kenny Barker and first managed by Adam Taylor.
