Merino wool: naturally warm base layer

Despite all the technical innovations in the production of new materials for clothing, one natural fiber is still particularly convincing: wool. Especially that of the merino sheep. The New Zealand brand Icebreaker is almost synonymous with merino clothing.

As early as 1995, Icebreaker recognized that the fine wool of the merino sheep has extremely dynamic properties and is perfect for functional underwear. Merino is heat-storing, breathable, odor-neutralizing and sustainable.

If you think of scratchy, bristly sweaters from bygone times when you think of wool, you are welcome to put this prejudice aside. Modern woolen clothing is based on the same fibers as back then, but the processing techniques are worlds apart.
