Parking ban introduced in the climbing area Rawyl

A few days ago we received the news that the community Icogne has introduced a parking ban at the climbing area Rawyl. We ask all climbers to follow the instructions of the church to prevent major conflicts.

Below is the message Andy Winterleitner sent us

On the 8. June I met a very angry landowner at Rawyl. After the conversation with him I would like to enlighten the climbing scene about the delicate situation. Finally, the main season for this climbing area is only on.

It seemed to be common in the past few years to drive past the parking lots of the Barrage Zeuzier to reach a pretty gravel path over a small gravel path. This despite existing comments on the wayside. The large lawn invited to camp. More and more visitors spent the weekend up there in the tent. In addition to some climbers were many hikers and unfortunately also party guests with corresponding disturbing behavior.

Tent castles, campfires and refuse brought the keg to overflow

Less well known is that the owner of the property grazes his cows there and lives from the dairy industry. Clearly this is not compatible with tent castles, campfire atmosphere and garbage. Among the many visitors there are unfortunately always runaways and finally the barrel was full. Therefore, the community decided a new scheme with the threat of buses.

So that the situation does not become a big conflict, I ask the climbers to keep the demands!
