Piotr Schab climbs Nordic Flower 8c onsight

Polish climber Piotr Schab visited the Hardmover area Flatanger in Norway. Just a few days ago he crossed Nordic Flower (8c) onsight.

That the 20-year-old Pole is damn fit, we know since the beginning of the year (LACRUX reported). But what he strings together in the Norwegian overhang climbing area is still amazing. In addition to the onsight ascent of the 8c route Nordic-Flower, he also managed Thor's Hammer (9a +).

This route needed more effort

Thor's hammer didn't climb that fast either. He planned the endurance beast for seven days. Thor's Hammer deserves the rating “endurance hammer” more than many other long routes, as she is 60! Meters long. You don't want too many bolts, because otherwise you have to struggle with the cable. According to Piotr, there are other challenges that you have to struggle with on such a long route: “The real deal about the Thor's Hammer - apart from the obvious technical, sporty factor - was to shut all those distractors down, to concentrate on every single move and to keep going till the very end.
