Pirmin Bertle climbs Ruta de Cobre - the second 9a in Chile

The German climber Pirmin Bertle, who lives in Friborg, succeeds in the first ascent of Ruta de Cobre (9a) in Socaire, Chile.

Pirmin Bertle traveled to South America for several months in 2016 for a few months and caused a sensation with the commemoration of the continent's first 9a. At that time he succeeded in the commission of Azul es el cielo de los ciegos (9a) in Piedra Parada, Argentina.

Three 9a's in South America

Pirmin Bertle has been back in South America since May, more precisely in Chile. In Socaire, on the Atacama plateau, the 32-year-old is now climbing the third 9a in South America. An important detail: The area is at 3 meters above sea level, which doesn't make it any easier.
