Record: 10-year-old climbs 8c + Southern Smoke

The 10-year-old Bayes Wilder climbs the 8c + route Southern Smoke in Red River Gorge, Kentucky USA, making climbing history. No one of this age has ever climbed such a difficult route.

The “age record” of an 8c + route was previously included Adam Ondra and Ashima Shiraishi. Both of them cracked this grade at the age of 11. Adam Ondra scored the Mascherina route in Sperlonga, Italy, in 2004, while Shiraishi climbed Lucifer and Southern Smoke (like Wilder) nine years ago.

The following video shows the inspection of Southern Smoke bayes wilder, by the way during his Red River Gorge Trips also scored routes like Ultra Perm (8b) or God's Own Stone (8b +).
