Samuel Ometz successful on the rope: Cabane au Canada (9a)

Wallisian Samuel Ometz announces the commission of Rawyl-9a Cabane au Canada, The route is currently experiencing a veritable flood of inspections.

Samuel is most known for committing tough boulders. Last time it was the five-star Boulder lur (8b +) in Crescianohe was second. The first ascent goes to the account of Ticino Giuliano Cameroni (LACRUX reported, here one Video Interview). Since spring, Samuel has devoted himself more to rope climbing and worked on his stamina. This paid off for the first time with the ascent of the boulder-heavy route “L'appel de Sodom” near Monthey (Switzerland). A few days ago he started the ascent of the route Cabane au Canada consider Rawyl one on it. Most hikers rate the route with a 9a. However, Samuel says: "Probably not the hardest for the grade, but a good challenge if you come from bouldering and have to build the endurance."

Numerous inspections in summer 2018

Cabane au Canada had a number of reruns this summer. It was June Fabian Borterwho was able to hook in the state of the Rawyl classic (LACRUX reported). A few days before Samuel's climb, it was the 26 year old Katherine Choongwho climbed 9a with Cabane au Canada as the first Swiss girl to do so (Interview with Katherine)
