The climbing helmet Vapor by Black Diamond: light and comfortable

Product of the month: Those who wear a helmet in the climbing garden are still in the minority. Wrongly. A grip broke quickly or the leg just before the fall behind the rope - which has bad consequences. In today's post we are therefore introducing you to the ideal companion for your next sport climbing session: the climbing helmet Vapor from Black Diamond.

The Steam by Black Diamond is an ultra-light climbing helmet with its 188 grams, with which a clever combination of different materials leads to a low weight and a high degree of comfort. The helmet shell is made of polycarbonate and EPS foam. Thanks to the “braced” construction, it is also optimally ventilated. All in all, the Vapor is a helmet that is barely noticeable after a short period of wear.

Suddenly everyone wears a helmet

Around 20 years ago, a minority of skiers or snowboarders wore a helmet. On the slopes you had a pretty cap on the head. Since then much has gone. Anyone traveling on the slopes without a helmet today will be looked at at an angle. Whether the helmet will establish itself in the climbing scene to the same extent is difficult to estimate. The fact is: a helmet protects against injury. More and more professional athletes therefore call for wearing helmets in sport climbing. The most recent example is the Basque professional climber Patxi Usobiaga.

#foryourmountain #liveclimbrepeat @blackdiamond

The climbing helmet has to be light and comfortable

For a helmet, especially in sport climbing, not to interfere, he must above all meet two criteria: It must be light and comfortable. Filled with 188 grams of the Steam by Black Diamond the first criterion with flying colors. The second criterion, comfort, is also more than fulfilled. Due to its lightweight construction, the inner padding and the adjustment straps can be the Steam Adjust perfectly to the shape of the head. The excuse “the helmet bothers me when climbing” is no longer there.
