This is the highest climbing gym in the world: Clymb Abu Dhabi

As befits the United Arab Emirates, the big trowel is touched. In Abu Dhabi, the climbing wall with the highest wall in the world will open in a few days. Also part of the hall, named Clymb Abu Dhabi, is the world's largest indoor skydiving chamber.

The United Arab Emirates not only has the tallest building in the world (Burj Khalifa - 828 meters) and the largest indoor ski facility, but also shopping malls with extravagant attractions such as a 9 million liter aquarium. From November 29, 2019, the capital of the United Arab Emirates will have one more attraction: The Clymb Abu Dhabi climbing hall with the highest climbing wall in the world: 43 meters.

100 meter rope for indoor climbing

In order to climb the entire wall in one piece you need an almost 100 meter long rope. Also part of the highest climbing area in the hall is the world's first multi-pitch indoor track. In the middle of the wall is a pedestal.

Climbing gym as a tourist attraction

We took a closer look at the website of the climbing gym and watched the advertising videos. It is striking that the hall is aimed at a very wide audience. It seems that the hall is more of a tourist attraction than a training ground for climbers.

In the following promotional video, the operators of the hall argue that one should rather leave the outdoor climbing, because there would be the danger of an uncontrolled fall by breaking off handles and the approach was just tedious.

In the promotional video it says:

"Say goodbye to being outside, say hello to being inside."

According to this motto, the operators write that one day is not fulfilled without shopping therapy. You should buy a souvenir, gift or something else in the climbing shop. Well then, happy climbing.
