After his recent success in Alphane (9A), Aidan Roberts tackles the next ultimate 9A boulder: Burden of Dreams. In order to be able to try the five moves at home as often as he likes, he scanned Nalle Hukkataival's test piece and had replicas of the grips produced.
Whether lead climbing or bouldering: At the top of what is just about humanly possible, climbing often becomes very specific. In this respect, it is understandable that athletes prepare with meticulous precision. This not only with regard to the training methodology and intensity, but also in relation to a preparation that is as realistic as possible.
Da Burden of Dreams - the first 9A boulder in the world - is far away in the Finnish Pampa, various climbers have already like Toru Nakajima or Vadim Timonov measured the boulder and built it at home. Aidan Roberts took it pretty seriously, scanned the entire boulder and had detailed holds produced. Will his replicas lead him to success?
