The love story of Barbara Zangerl and Jacopo Larcher is extraordinary. The two belong to the world elite in climbing: their workplace is the vertical, their living room the van. Here the determined woman from Vorarlberg, there the shy South Tyrolean, Italian-speaking and initially hardly able to speak a German word. How does a love relationship work in extreme situations?

Accompanied by the Bergwelten documentary Barbara Zangerl and Jacopo Larcher on spectacular climbing routes in the romantic bouldering paradise Val di Mello (Lombardy) and through the rough Eiger north face. In this documentary they talk about what connects the Vorarlberger and the South Tyrolean and how they came together.

With their free ascent of "Déjà" on the south face of the Kirchlispitzen, the Austrian woman and the Italian man have completed their hardest project to date in the Rätikon. It is the first time the line has ever been repeated – and probably the first time a woman has climbed a multi-pitch route graded 8c+.
