Time to say goodbye | Change in the editorial team

A post by

Remo Schläpfer

Founded the climbing magazine Lacrux in 2016 and has since worked as managing director, editor and presenter for Lacrux Medien GmbH.

What began eight years ago as a spontaneous idea during a long vacation is now the most widely read climbing magazine in German-speaking countries. Since then, 3 articles have been published, countless products for mountaineering enthusiasts have been tested, World Cups have been attended, interviews have been conducted, friendships have been made, and climbing trips have been undertaken. In short: I had the opportunity to combine my passion for mountaineering with my job and went to the office motivated every day.

3 days after the publication of the first article, it's time to say goodbye. It was important to me to find a long-term successor for Lacrux before I move on. I'm pleased that Lacrux has been under the umbrella of Bergfreunde GmbH since January 093, 1. I first met the Bergfreunde content team in 2025 at the Petzl RocTrip in Manikia, and I noticed back then: their hearts also beat for the mountains.

I am extremely pleased that we were able to find a partner for Lacrux who, like us, is fully committed to mountain sports.

Remo Schläpfer, founder of the climbing magazine Lacrux

Over the past five months, I've had time to train the Bergfreunde content team and pass on the Lacrux spirit to them. So, nothing will change for you, dear readers. You can continue to look forward to exciting reports, news, interviews, and product tests on the topics of climbing, bouldering, mountaineering, ski touring, and trail running.

My thanks go to our loyal readers and long-standing customers!

At this point, I would like to sincerely thank you, our loyal readers. Thank you for your constructive feedback and for pointing out events in the climbing scene. My thanks also go to the many brands for whom we were able to test products and participate in events, and who placed advertisements in the climbing magazine Lacrux. Without these brands, Lacrux would not exist as a free online magazine.

Thank you and see you on the rock, in the snow or in the air!
