Successful World Cup for Switzerland and Germany

This weekend, the last competition of the Boulder World Cup season took place in Munich. At the same time, the European Championships were held.

Yesterday, the best boulderers in the sold-out Olympic Park in Munich fought for the victory of the last competition of the World Cup season. The German Jan Hojer managed what many athletes wish. He won the gold medal in front of his home crowd. He prevailed against five Asian climbers who were with him in the final. Four of them, as so often, were Japanese.

Petra Klingler moves into the final

A very gratifying result for Switzerland is Petra Klingler. She moved into the final at the Boulder World Cup in Munich and secured the 6. Final Standings. It was her fifth World Cup final and the seventh top ten finish of the season.

Parallel presentation of the European Championships

At the same time as the Bouldering World Cup, the European Championships were held in Munich this weekend. Switzerland started with a total of 11 athletes. Andrea Kümin and Beni Blaser climbed into the EM semi-finals. Andrea was an excellent tenth. Benjamin bouldered to 20th place. As in the World Cup, Jan Hojer won the men's European Championships. Janja Garnbret from Slovenia won once again in the women's category.

The Swiss group from Sofya Yokoyama, Natalie Bärtschi, Rebekka Stotz, Nils Favre and Baptiste Ometz lacked very little for the European Championship semifinals. Sofya missed the entry for a place, followed by Natalie Bärtschi. Rebekah became 25. Nils Favre and Baptiste Ometz took the ranks 23 and 26.
