Futaba Ito and Yoshiyuki Ogata are the winners of the Adidas Rockstars 2019 competition

This weekend, the elite of the international sports climbing scene once again gathered for a very special kind of competition: over 55 top athletes from more than 17 nations were invited to Adidas Rockstars this year.

The top 6 ladies and men qualified for the grand finale, where they climbed in two rounds to qualify for the Super Final. There they faced each other at the so-called "Superboulder", where they simultaneously climbed an identical route side by side.

In the superfinal, the two best athletes climbed one on one for the title: Futaba Ito (JPN) and Yoshiyuki Ogata (JPN) were the quickest to conquer the final and all-important boulder. Also Florian Klingler (AUT) and Jongwon Chon (KOR) with the gentlemen and Janja Garnbret (SLO) and Ai Mori from Japan in the women, could be happy about the second and third place respectively.
