Book about record project xPeaks published | Peter von Känel

On July 30, 2024, Peter von Känel and Chrigel Maurer successfully completed their record-breaking xPeaks project. Within just 51 days, the two climbed all 82 four-thousand-meter peaks in the Alps - on foot, on skis and with the help of their paragliders. Peter von Känel's book about the joint project is now available from Filidor-Verlag.

The mountaineering paraglider professional Chrigel Maurer and the paragliding mountain professional Peter von Kaenel complement each other perfectly and formed the basis for their adventure – the xPeaksproject – the ideal team. How did this seemingly perfect combination of the two outdoor sports enthusiasts come about? And how did the idea for the record project come about? What was the recipe for success for the two and how did they deal with the many risks? How did their families?

In his book "xPeaks - New Ways to Old Mountains", Peter von Känel explains the key success factors in terms of preparation, tactics and dealing with risks and mistakes in a vivid, authentic and ironic way. He describes the storms, the guarded ridges, flying at the limit and their magic moves, with which they overcome even the greatest difficulties in a creative way as a team.
