The IFSC, together with the Fédération Française de la Montagne et de l'Escalade and the Swiss Alpine Club SAC, as well as the local organizers, decided to postpone the IFSC competitions planned for July. At the same time, the IFSC announces the new date for the 2020 European Championships in Moscow.
The following three events are affected by the postponement.
- IFSC World Cup in Villars (SUI) from July 2-4, 2020
- IFSC World Cup in Chamonix (FRA) from July 11th to 13th, 2020
- IFSC World Cup in Briançon (FRA) from July 18-19, 2020
Due to the current situation, the shift of Competitions already signed some time ago. On April 13, 2020, French President Emmanuel Macro extended the national ban on major public events until mid-July. Large events are also prohibited in Switzerland until further notice.
“When I look at the pictures from last year's competitions, my heart is bleeding. In July, fans won't be able to cheer on their favorite athletes. "Marco Scolaris, President of the IFSC
