On Sunday, around 50.000 cubic meters of rock collapsed in a hiking and climbing area near Lugano. According to experts, the brittle rock favors further rockfalls.

A heavy rock fall occurred at the Arête des Cosmiques on the Mont Blanc massif earlier this week. Numerous rope teams on the south face of the Aiguille du Midi witnessed the massive rock avalanche. Climber Nick Lozica even captured the event on camera.
