Survived again: gripping film about Robert Leistner

Robert Leistner is a Saxon thoroughbred climber and knows the Elbe Sandstone Mountains like the back of his hand. Today we can exclusively present you a short film about the first ascent of numerous difficult and hair-raising climbing routes.

Robert Leistner is one of the strongest Saxon climbers. More than 20 years ago he started climbing in Elbe sandstone learned and has meanwhile climbed many of the most difficult routes as well as made numerous daring first ascents.

"Survived again": Robert Leistner and the Elbe Sandstone Mountains

In the 60s and 70s, the motto was to protect a route as badly as possible in order to make it as difficult as possible to repeat it. Challenges that Robert Leistner was happy to accept during his storm and stress years: “Somehow, I survived. So those were great times."

"I have the feeling that I'm a little safer now and don't always have one foot in the grave."

This arrogance, that nothing could happen to him, was lost over the years with the children. "I have the feeling that I'm a little safer now and don't always have one foot in the grave."
