Bouldering with Nina Caprez

On December 22nd, 2016, a charity event with top climber Nina Caprez will take place in the Minimum bouldering hall in Zurich.

The Swiss nonprofit organization ClimbAID is launching a donation campaign for the project "A Rolling Rock" together with the well-known Swiss climber Nina Caprez. The funds collected will be used to promote the physical and psychosocial development of children and adolescents in Lebanon through climbing.

Practically no access to sports and other leisure activities: This situation saw Beat Baggenstos (34), founder of ClimbAIDwhile facing a volunteer deployment in the Bekaatal in Lebanon. "I wondered how to get those kids and teenagers to focus on something that is fun, healthy and motivating. Three years ago, climbing changed my life. I would like to pass on the passion for these forgotten children », said the former bank employee.

Mobile bouldering block on a truck

This was the beginning of «A Rolling Rock»- a project that plans to offer climbing activities in a refugee camp with a mobile Boulder Block. Especially in view of the growing tensions between refugees and their hosts, Baggenstos hopes that the joint climbing will promote camaraderie between young Syrians and Lebanese. As the Swiss professional climber Nina Caprez from the project, she was immediately enthusiastic. "I think it's great to build a boulder block on a truck and drive it from one refugee camp to another and want to be part of that movement," said Caprez. She will participate in the first fundraising event in Zurich on 22. December 2016 takes place at 17.30 pm in the Bouldering Hall minimum.
