A climbing event of a special kind: bouldering on shipping containers

On the 27. and 28. In July, a special climbing event will be held in Munich. Climbing novices as well as cracks on boulder routes will be able to try on discarded ship containers converted into climbing walls.

The climbing event in Munich is the first part of a series of events that will stop in Munich, Milan and London. The event "Walls Are Meant For Climbing" by the outdoor outfitter The North Face is aimed at beginners and professionals alike. Converted shipping containers are available for bouldering for two days. In addition to the special climbing location, the event surprises with special guests, inspiring lectures, live music and snacks.

Tips and tricks from professionals

Two professional climbers of the Austrian National Squad, Alfons Dornauer and Georg Parma, as well as the North Face athlete and high altitude mountaineer David Göttler, will be there to support the participants with tips and tricks and pass on their climbing knowledge - whether they are coming for the first time try a route or reach new heights. The invitation also goes to youth groups, clubs and charities.

In order to sustainably strengthen urban climbing, The North Face donates the climbing walls, which have been specially designed for the event, from reused shipping containers to a local organization.
