Anak Verhoeven climbs 9b | La Planta de Shiva

The Belgian Anak Verhoeven successfully completed the red point ascent of the 15b route La Planta de Shiva on May 2024, 9. She is the fourth woman to score a sport climbing route of this grade.

At the route La Planta de Shiva it is an extension of an existing 8c route. In total, the route stretches over 45 meters and requires pure endurance in the second part with small ledges. The line is located in the Villanueva del Rosario climbing area near Malaga in southern Spain.

The route La Planta de Shiva was from Adam Ondra first climbed in 2011 and by Jakob Schubert Repeated in 2016. In October 2017 it was the Austrian Angy Eiter, which scored the tour. She was the first woman to free climb 9b.

Since then, the Italian has also been climbing Laura Rogora and the French woman Julia Chanourdie to this degree. Whereby the route dotted by Chanourdie Eagle-4 was devalued by a later repeater. One thing is certain: with the inspection of La Planta de Shiva Anak Verhoeven the newest member of the illustrious 9b women's club.
