IFSC World Cup Boulder & Lead Morioka | program and live stream

The last IFSC World Cup of the season takes place in Japan from October 20th to 22nd. After the European Championships in Munich, Morioka will be the second venue this year where the Olympic format of bouldering and lead will be used. We have put together all the important information, the program and the live streams for you.

The IFSC World Cup in Morioka will be the second international event to use the new bouldering and lead format of Paris 2024 - the first was the European Championships in Munich 2022.

A slightly different scoring system will be used at the last IFSC World Cup of the season. The changes only affect the distribution of points: each round is still worth 100 points, the maximum total number of points remains at 200.

This is how the points are awarded in Morioka

boulder loop

  • 25 points are awarded if the athletes have controlled the top hold, regardless of whether they previously controlled any zone holds on the boulder
  • 10 points will be awarded if the athletes have controlled the second zone hold but not the top hold, regardless of whether the first zone hold was controlled on an attempt
  • 5 points are awarded if the athletes only controlled the first zone grip.

lead round

  • Athletes receive points for the highest 40 holds of the lead route
  • 4 points per grip are awarded for the top ten grips
  • After that, the number of points per grip decreases by one point for every ten grips
  • No points are awarded for the remaining number of holds (the bottom ones).
