Yesterday the Iranian sport climber took care of it Elnaz Rekabi for international headlines. The 33-year-old competed Sunday without the hijab, the traditional head covering that Iranian law requires women to wear in public.

As the British news portal BBC now reports, friends of Rekabi have not been able to contact her since Sunday evening. Apparently, the young Iranian's mobile phone and passport were already taken in Seoul.

She was apparently transferred to the Iranian embassy in Seoul under a pretext. According to other sources, Rekabi is now threatened with imprisonment in the notorious Evin prison, where people who are unpopular with the Iranian state have been imprisoned for years.
UPDATE: the Iranian regime will send Elnaz Rekabi straight to Evin Prison from the Tehran airport after she returns from the Asian Games in South Korea.
