On the 3. June 2017 Alex Honnold climbed the route freeriders on El Capitan free solo (LACRUX reported). On his visit, he was accompanied by a huge film crew. How was it for the filmmakers to accompany Alex Honnold in free-solo climbing?

A route like Freerider climbing with ropes in the range 7c + (with rope) is already a remarkable achievement. The 33 rope lengths without any security to commit, is hard to imagine. The following video shows how annoying it is for the film crew Jimmy Chin and Elizabeth Chai was the Free Solo Commitment of Alex to accompany with the camera.
