In the spring of this year, Chris Sharma made climbing history once again when he freed a new kingline in Siurana. With Sleeping Lion (9b+), the now 42-year-old achieved the hardest first ascent of his climbing career. Now there is the video.

Our preview of sleeping lion (9b+) has Chris Sharma put the icing on his long and successful climbing career. No matter how difficult it is to climb at the age of 41, no one can easily imitate the Californian Spaniard. Reel Rock captured the path from the long-term project to the Kingline Sleeping Lion on camera. Former Team USA climbing coach sentenced to prison for possession of child sexual abuse material

Matthew Maddison, the former speed climbing coach of USA Climbing, has been sentenced to up to 15 years in prison in the US state of Utah. The 37-year-old pleaded guilty as part of an agreement with prosecutors to possessing and distributing child sexual abuse material online. USA Climbing had already suspended the British-born Maddison from his duties following his arrest in the spring.

Following a fatal climbing accident on Kalymnos: Almost 400 routes have been refurbished with titanium bolts.

Since the fatal climbing accident on Kalymnos in the spring, route refurbishment on the Greek island has accelerated. According to the local initiative Rebolt Kalymnos, 383 routes have been completely re-equipped – with titanium instead of stainless steel.
